Individual research advice

At the information desk on the ground floor of the music library, we are happy to answer any questions you may have about how to search for and find sheet music, books and essays. Our library staff are available for advice and support. Contact us – we are happy to help you!

For advice on all other questions of academic work, please contact our experienced student assistants of the Musicology Seminar.


The music library offers the following training courses for groups:

 

Introduction to the library

  • Get to know the library
  • Find, borrow, renew and hold media
  • Dates by arrangement or as part of the campus and library tour at the beginning of each semester

 

Research made easy

  • Basic literature search techniques
  • Find sheet music and recordings
  • Thematic search for books and essays
  • Dates by arrangement

 

Database training

  • Search options of individual databases, e.g. RILM, BMS, JSTOR, or of reference works such as Grove and MGG
  • Find and obtain essays
  • Dates by arrangement

 

Customised training

  • Training tailored to your group of students
  • You select the learning goals
  • You choose the search tools and topics
  • Dates by arrangement
