The new music library building

The library of Detmold University of Music is located on the FORUM Wissenschaft | Bibliothek | Musik (Forum Science | Library | Music).
The new music library building was inaugurated in September 2015.
The glass foyer connects the music library and the Lippe State Library.
In the foyer, there is a common lending desk as well as a cloakroom and lockers.
For a short break, you will find a coffee machine and comfortable seating in the foyer.
We will be happy to answer your questions at the information desk on the ground floor.
On the ground floor, you will find more than 60,000 sheet music titles. These are freely accessible and sorted by instrumentation.
There is a separate shelf for large-format sheet music.
On the ground floor, you will also find an electric piano for playing the music.
More than 19,000 sound carriers and DVDs are available on the ground floor.
In addition to a copier, a powerful book scanner is available in the copying room.
In the studio on the ground floor, various playback devices such as a record player, a BluRay player or a TV may also be used without headphones.
On the 1st floor, eight media workstations with CD players, computers and headphones are available.
Here, you will also find numerous reading workstations with individual lighting and sockets for your notebook.
Current issues of music education and musicological journals can be found on the 1st floor.
On the 2nd floor, you will primarily find literature on the history of music. Additional reading workstations are available here.
