Brahms Piano Competition Detmold 2017

The jury of the final round, consisting of the university professors Catherine Vickers (Frankfurt), Christopher Oakden (Hanover), Alfredo Perl (Detmold), Jacob Leuschner (Detmold) and the Brahms specialist Andreas Boyde (London), awarded two first prizes at the competition, which was held for the first time. The Romanian pianist Adela Liculescu (24) and the Ukrainian Anna Ulaieva (32) received the first prize. The third prize went to the young Munich pianist Vincent Neeb (19). Furthermore, a special prize donated by the LIONS Club Leipzig Cosmopolitan for the best Brahms interpretation in the final in the amount of 2,500 euros, combined with a concert in Leipzig, was awarded to Anna Ulaieva. In addition to the prize money totalling 10,000 euros, all of which was made possible by the Alfred Reinhold Foundation with its board of directors Dr. Ingbert Blüthner-Haessler, numerous follow-up engagements were made possible for the prize winners: Adela Liculescu will perform with the dogma chamber orchestra in the historic Kaisersaal in Schloss Corvey in 2018. Anna Ulaieva will perform for the first time in Europe's oldest free-standing concert hall - the Bagno Concert Gallery Steinfurt. Vincent Neeb can look forward to a solo evening in the festival hall of Moritzburg Castle in Detmold's twin city Zeitz. The Alfred Reinhold Foundation and the Thürmer Concert Secretariat have also provided concert engagements for the two first-place winners in the Thürmer Hall in Bochum as well as in Leipzig and Paris. In addition, Adela Liculescu will have the opportunity to have her own CD produced by the renowned Erich Thienhaus Institute in Detmold (training for sound engineers).
