Ombudsfrau (Ombudswoman):
The ombudswoman of HfM Detmold is Mrs. Ursula Rost. She acts as a mediator in case of conflicts, e.g. between a student and a teacher. Mrs. Rost’s contact details can be found here.
Orchester (Orchestra):
HfM Detmold attaches great importance to orchestral performance. All students on artistic courses must play in an orchestra from the first semester onwards, except during their exam semester. Appointments to the HfM orchestra are made by the main subject teachers. Participation in the university orchestra is governed by the orchestra rules. There are one to two work phases per semester. Orchestra internships NRW (Orchesterpraktika NRW):
The Orchestra Center | NRW offers its students and other NRW master's students the opportunity to gain valuable practical experience in one of the region's professional orchestras alongside their studies. As part of the orchestra internships in North Rhine-Westphalia, students are deployed in such a way that they can continue their studies during this time. The students are supported by a mentor from the orchestra's ranks who prepares the students for the planned works and provides advice and support for all aspects of everyday life as an orchestra musician.
