Lageplan (Campus Map)

The HfM campus comprises ten specifically equipped buildings which are located in and around the imposing Palais Garden. Strings, wind instruments, singers and percussionists have their own institute buildings; the pianists and organists reside in the old Palais, which also serves the larger chamber music ensembles for rehearsals and concerts. The musicologists reside in an Art Nouveau villa on the fringes of the garden, while seminars for prospective school musicians and instrumental teachers are held in the Pädagogikhaus. The church musicians have six outstanding instruments at their disposal, including the Klais organ in the Konzerthaus, the large Schuke organ in the Heilig Kreuz parish church and the Sandtner organ in the Palais. Students of the singing classes can use the historical summer theatre, also located on the fringes of the campus, for podium training and scenic performances. The Tonmeister studios are attached to the large concert hall, which is unique worldwide in its sound technology.

Leistungspunkte/ECTS (Credit points/ECTS):

Credit points or credits in accordance with the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS) are awarded for the successful completion of studies and examinations. Credit points provide you with an indication of the average time required to successfully complete a course module.

By the end of the eight-semester Bachelor’s course 240 credit points must have been earned, while 120 credit points are required for the four-semester master’s course. 180 credit points are necessary for teacher training courses. You will receive the respective credit points after you have successfully completed the required achievements and passed the module examinations.

Please contact the CIS if you need a non-automated/signed certificate of achievement. Please note that this may take 3 to 5 days.

Lehrerwechsel (Change of teacher):

Please contact the Student Services Department for any questions regarding a change of teacher. We will be happy to advise you. If you have already agreed everything with your current teacher and your future teacher, please simply hand in the signed application to the CIS by the applicable reregistration deadline. Please make sure that the application has been signed by both teachers. The change in the class lists will then be made automatically.
