Ulrike-Anima Mathé, gebürtig in Deutschland, wurde durch jahrzehntelange weltweite Konzerttätigkeit als hochgeschätzte Solistin und begeisterte Kammermusikerin zu einem Begriff auf den internationalen Konzertpodien. Rezensionen preisen ihre Interpretationen für ihre intensive Ausdrucksstärke, innigen Zauber und musikalische Poesie, für mühelose Technikbeherrschung und kluge Gestaltung. Ihr Repertoire reicht vom Barock bis zur Gegenwart.

Als Solistin arbeitete sie weltweit mit renommierten Orchestern wie z.B mit der Tschechischen Philharmonie, dem Dallas Symphony Orchestra, der Camerata Salzburg, dem Stuttgarter Kammerorchester, der Staatskapelle Weimar, dem Belgisches Nationalorchester, und vielen europäischen Rundfunkorchestern zusammen. Sie trat auf bei den Berliner und Luzerner Festwochen, den Festspielen in Schwetzingen, Ludwigsburg, Lockenhaus und ist regelmäßig Gast bei bedeutenden internationalen Kammermusikfestivals.

Neben zahlreichen live-Radiomitschnitten wird ihre Künstlerpersönlichkeit in hoch geschätzten CD- Einspielungen von Max Reger, Hartmann, Korngold u.v.a. dokumentiert.

In den Achtziger Jahren wurde sie mit etlichen 1. Preisen bei renommierten Wettbewerben ausgezeichnet, wie z.B. beim „Europäischen Violinwettbewerb“ in Wien, beim „Deutschen Musikwettbewerb" in Bonn, bei den „Young Concert Artists Auditions“ in New York. Außerdem gewann sie als Preisträgerin beim „Concours Reine Elisabeth“ in Brüssel zusätzlich den begehrten Publikumspreis.

Ulrike-Anima Mathé studierte Violine bei Dorothy DeLay an der Juilliard School in New York und bei Tibor Varga in Detmold und verdankt außerdem Sándor Végh und Rudolf Serkin besondere musikalische Inspiration und Förderung. Einladungen zur Marlboro School of Music (USA) und dem International Musicians Seminar in Cornwall, sowie das Studium Historischer Aufführungspraxis in Basel sind weitere wichtige Stationen ihres künstlerischen Werdegangs.

Seit 1999 unterrichtet sie mit großem Enthusiasmus als Violin-Professorin an der HfM Detmold. Daneben leitete sie dort viele Jahre das Instrumentalensemble der Barockakademie.

Ulrike-Anima Mathé, born in Germany, is internationally recognized both as an outstanding soloist as well as an enthusiastic chamber musician. Her worldwide concert activities made her one of the leading German violinists of her generation. Reviews praise her interpretations for their intensive expressiveness, intimate magic and poetry, for effortless technical command and profound musical insight.

As a soloist, she has worked with renowned orchestras around the world such as the Czech Philharmonic, the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, the Camerata Salzburg, the Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra, the Staatskapelle Weimar, the Belgian National Orchestra and many European Radio Orchestras. She performed at the Berlin and Lucerne Festivals, the Festivals in Schwetzingen, Ludwigsburg and Lockenhaus and is regularly invited to major international chamber music festivals.

In addition to numerous live radio appearances, her artistic profile is documented in highly regarded CD recordings by Max Reger, Hartmann, Korngold and many others.

In the 1980s she was awarded several 1. Prizes at renowned competitions, such as the "European Violin Competition" in Vienna, the "German Music Competition" in Bonn, and the "Young Concert Artists Auditions" in New York and as a prizewinner at the “Concours Reine Elisabeth” in Brussels she also received the coveted Audience Award.

Ulrike-Anima Mathé studied violin with Dorothy DeLay at the Juilliard School in New York and with Tibor Varga in Detmold. Furthermore she received great musical inspiration and special support from Sándor Végh and Rudolf Serkin. Her participation in the Marlboro School of Music (USA) and the International Musicians Seminar in Cornwall, as well as the studies of Historical Performance Practice in Basel are further stations of her artistic development.

Since 1999 she has been passionately teaching as a violin professor at the Hochschule für Musik Detmold. Besides she founded the String-ensemble of the Barockakademie Detmold and directed it for many years.
