Big band

Over the last few years, our big band has been an increasingly important facet of the artistic education we provide. It regularly develops new programmes with guest lecturers and soloists, gives concerts, goes on tour, and publishes CDs. Like all jazz teaching, the big band forms part of the schools music department within the jazz-rock-pop module. Our jazz ensembles are also open to suitable students from parallel programmes of HfM Detmold. As well as a wide range of ensembles, arrangements and theoretical courses, the schools jazz music course offers a major in instrumental studies.
