Alfredo Perl was born in Santiago, Chile, in 1965. He studied in his hometown under Carlos Botto and later under Günter Ludwig in Köln and Maria Curcio in London. Since his first performance at the age of nine, he has performed in numerous concerts and has won many important competitions, which soon made him one of the leading pianists of his generation.

In 1996 and 1997 he performed several Beethoven Sonatas in the Wigmore Hall in London, as well as in Santiago and Moscow. At the same time, his BMG Arte Nova CD with 32 Beethoven Sonatas and the Diabelli Variations was released. The following was written about Perl's Beethoven interpretation: "with sparkling freshness, extraordinary tenderness and unaffected brilliance he demonstrates that, even in these prosaic times, the great tradition of Beethoven playing lives on." (Joachim Kaiser).

More recordings with the same record label include recitals; three CDs with music by Franz Liszt, as well as chamber music with Ralph Manno; the Sonatas for clarinet and piano by Brahms, and the Sonatas for piano and cello by Beethoven with Guido Schiefen. The artist also recorded Grieg's Piano Concerto and the Symphony Concertante by Szymanowski.

has performed at renowned festivals like the Rheingau Music Festival; the Bath International Music Festival; the Schwetzinger Festival; the Kissinger Summer and Haydn Festival in Eisenstadt.
