| 1967 | started school at the Albert-Schweitzer-School. |
| 1968 | started violin studies with Marianne Petersen. |
| 1972 | - 1974: 1st Prizes at the national `Jugend Musiziert`. |
| 1974 | Scholarships from the NDR Orchestra and Ritter Trust. Starts pre-college studies with Prof.Ziolkowsky. |
| 1975 | 1st Prize at the International Chamber Music Competition in Colmar.Received scholarship from the Eduard Soering Trust, and joined the National Youth Orchestra of Germany. |
| 1976 | Starts studies at the Musikhochschule in Hamburg (with Ziolkowsky), becomes concert master of the Junge Deutsche Philharmonie, and also studies with Prof. Josef Vlach (Vlach Quartet,Prague) |
| 1977 | Works with the Hamburg City Opera Orchestra. Renewal of the Soering scholarship. |
| 1978 | awarded the Dr.Koerber-Prize. Continued studies with Prof. Vlach and prof. Heiberg. |
| 1979 | Renewal of the Dr. Koerber Prize. |
| 1980 | Renewal of the Soering scholarship.Became member of the ECYO,and played with the Chamber Orchestra of Europe. Master classes with Gerard Poulet at the Conservatoire in Paris. |
