• 1974 - Finished high school at the John F. Kennedy School in Berlin

• 1975 - Half-year technical internship with Siemens in Berlin

• 1975-78 - Information studies at the Technical University of Berlin

• 1978 - Changed degree to sound engineering at the University of the Arts, Berlin (sound engineering exam in February 1983)

• 1981 - Sound engineer tutor for first semester students

• 1979 - Internship with EMI-Elektrola, Cologne

• 1982 - Half-day position with Studio 54 in Berlin; conversion of the mixer; technical development and repair

• 1981-86 - Freelancer with Cologne Radio Station (WDR) as sound engineer in Mahne in Dießen; digital recordings; cutting and editing for Orfeo

• Since 1984 - Freelance sound engineer in the sound studio Mauermann ("audite")

• 1985-86 - Freelance sound engineer in the Südwest sound studio for digital arrangements and CD mastering

• 1985-86 - Sound engineer representative at the Intercord GmbH in Stuttgart

• Since 1984 - Freelance sound engineer with Süddeutsche Radio

• Since 1986 - Permanently employed as sound engineer with the Süddeutsche Radio Station

• March 1989 - Wins the Kurt Magnus prize for Trendsetter in Digital Technology

• Since 1994 - Responsible for recordings with Thomas Hengelbrock at Südwest Radio

• November 1999 - Honoured with the Golden Bobby award for the recording Lotti Requiem with the Balthasar Neumann Choir and Ensemble under Thomas Hengelbrock

• Since October 2001 - Professor of Music Transfer of e-music at the University of Detmold. Also sound engineer at Südwest Radio in Stuttgart, working on numerous chamber music-, orchestra- and opera productions
