Bob Versteegh started playing piano at the age of eight. After finishing school, he studied piano at the Sweelinck Conservatorium in Amsterdam under Jaap Callenbach, where he completed his studies with high distinction. Subsequently, he continued his studies with Frédéric Gevers in Antwerp, Yara Bernette and Malcolm Frager in Hamburg and under Maria Curcio in London.

Since his studies, he has been active as music teacher, soloist and chamber musician. He has worked as piano lecturer at the Conservatorium von Leeuwarden and as pianist and musical advisor of the Dutch Eurythmie Ensemble in The Hague. In 1995, Bob Versteegh was appointed Professor of Piano at the Detmold University of Music.

He has played concerts in many countries (including Germany; Switzerland; Austria; the Netherlands; Belgium; France; Sweden; Finland; the UK and the USA) and has produced numerous radio recordings as well as CDs. For more than 20 years, he has successfully collaborated with the American saxophone player John Edward Kelly. The duo has together played in hundreds of concerts, performing numerous pieces for saxophone and piano by significant composers like Miklos Maros, Anders Eliasson, Hans Kox, Dimitri Terzakis and Michael Denhoff.
